To study the effects of N, P and their interaction on grain yield of safflower under dry farming conditions, a factorial experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with twelve treatments, three replications for two years. Treatments consisted of four rates of N (0, 30, 60 and 90 Kg N ha-1) and three rates of P (0, 40 and 80 Kg P2O5 ha-1). Investigation on the results of combined analysis of variance showed that the effects of N, P and their interaction on grain yield was significant (α=0.05) and application of N and P increased grain yield. The effect of N, P and their interaction on head per plant was significant (α=0.01) and that the application of N and P increased this parameter. Considering the results of this experiment the application of 60 kg N ha-1 and 40 Kg P2O5 ha-1 for this variety of safflower should be recommended for such climaic conditions.
