To evaluate the effects of different amounts of potassium combined with micronutrients on 3 varieties of wheat, an experiment with 6 fertilizer treatments and three replications was conducted. The three varieties were V1= Mahdavi (M-70-12), and V2=Shiraz (M-75-10), and V3=Pishtaz (M-75-71). The six fertilizer treatments were as follows: T1=NP, T2= T1+ K1 (based on soil test), T3= T1+ K2 (twice the soil test), T4= T1+Micro, T5= T2+Micro, T6= T3 +Micro. The 18 treatments, including 6 fertilizer treatments and 3 varieties of wheat, were replicated three time adding up to a total of 54 plots. Split plot design was used. The main plot consisted of different varieties, and the subplots of different fertilizer treatments. 300 kg/ha of urea, 100 kg/ha of ammonium phosphate and two levels of potassium sulfate, K1=250 kg/ha and K2= 500 kg/ha were used. Micronutrents, including Cu, Zn, Mg, Fe and B were also used as required on the basis of soil tests. The results were analyzed statistically showing that with the first year’s experiment on V3 using T4 produced the highest grain yield (5700 kg/ha). V3 also topped other varieties in total weight of grain but no significant differences existed between the different varieties at 5% level. In the second year, the highest total yield was obtained with V1/T3(6660 kg/ha). The total yield for V3/T2 and V2/T3 were 8550 and 8610 kg/ha, respectively. Regarding the grain protein concentration (GPC),the best GPC, (14.84%) was obtained with V2/T2. The GPC of V1/T6 and V3/T5 were 14.57% and 13.53%, respectively. Considering the two years, results with respect to variety effect, it can be concluded that the different varieties have different responses to potassium and micronutrients. Further research is needed in this regard.
